Priorities & Perspective

Why are you running for the Board of Trustees?
Alamo Heights ISD is one of the strongest school districts in Texas, and I am committed to ensuring it remains that way. I am running for re-election to continue the work we have started and to build on the district’s strong foundation. As a parent, community member, and trustee, I understand how important the district is to families and to the future of our community.
My priorities continue to focus on what matters most to students, families, and educators. I will work to maintain the academic excellence AHISD is known for, support and retain outstanding teachers and staff, and ensure responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources. I am also committed to maintaining strong school facilities and ensuring bond-funded improvements and campus projects are delivered on time and within budget.
I bring a combination of professional expertise, community leadership, and firsthand experience with Alamo Heights ISD. As a parent of AHISD graduates, I understand the needs of students and families at every level of the district. My career in financial planning and investment strategy has given me experience in budgeting, long-term planning, and responsible financial stewardship. I also believe strong schools depend on collaboration between trustees, educators, parents, and the broader community.

Before serving on the Board of Trustees, I was actively involved in supporting Alamo Heights schools through volunteer leadership and community service. My involvement has included the Woodridge Dad’s Club, the Woodridge Site-Based Committee, Alamo Heights Little League Board, and the Alamo Heights School Foundation, where I served as Treasurer, Chair of the Scholarship Committee, and Chair of the Teacher Fund (Annual Fund). I have also participated in the District Education Advisory Council (DEAC). These roles gave me valuable insight into the needs of students, teachers, and families across the district.

During my service on the Board of Trustees, I have worked to help AHISD maintain its reputation for excellence while ensuring responsible financial management. This has included balancing budget constraints from the State of Texas while continuing to support teachers and academic programs, supporting the decision to eliminate class rank beyond the top 10 percent, and helping oversee bond-funded construction and renovation projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
